With this song, vocalist Pierre Bouvier, drummer Chuck Comeau and guitarists Sebastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco have taken their unique alternative sound and given it a modern touch.
“‘The Antidote’ sounds like a throwback to our classic Simple Plan sound but with a modern twist,” the band say in a press release. “It has all the elements our fans have come to love and expect from our band: a big, energetic chorus and honest and heartfelt lyrics that deal with life and the struggles we all face.”

The track was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and is about needing people in your life to get you through everything.
“We wrote and recorded the song before the pandemic hit, and in lots of ways, it has become even more relevant after everything that happened over the last 20 months,” the band continue. “A lot of people are going through some tough times right now, and the song talks about how important it is to have someone or something to turn to when life gets really hard. It can be a life partner, a friend, a family member, something you love to do and are really passionate about. It doesn’t really matter, and it can be anything.”
“For a lot of our fans and for us, it’s been music,” they say. “Its power to heal, comfort and be a lifeline has never been greater and more needed than now. We really hope this song will mean a lot to our fans and help them deal with the difficult moments we’re all facing.”
