What It Means To Fall Apart sees Mayday Parade return to their emo roots and traditional sound, collaborating with producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount

The second track on the album, “Golden Days,” came about as a result of pandemic fatigue. “After a year of restrictions and negativity, I was hopeful that better days would soon be ahead,” singer Derek Sanders says.

Think Of You” is an acoustic number that centers on compassion. “Life can be pretty hectic no matter who you are,” drummer Jake Bundrick says. “‘Think Of You’ is about not wanting to miss a single moment with someone in your life and cherishing every moment you do have with that person, place or thing.”

The album’s more fast-paced tracks such as “If My Ghosts Don’t Play, I Don’t Play” and “You Not Me” weave the band’s latest acoustic direction together with their older, heavier sound.

Other tracks such as “One For The Rocks And One For The Scary,” “Bad At Love” and “Kids Of Summer” have been previously released from the forthcoming album. When collectively put together, Mayday Parade ultimately prove their strength in remaining one of pop punks’ best acts with their new album.
