JAY-Z Becomes Most Grammy-Nominated Artist In History

The nominees for the 64th annual Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday (Nov. 24) and JAY-Z picks up three nominations. Now with a total of 83, Hov is currently the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, surpassing Quincy Jones (80).

This year, the rap artist and business mogul is nominated in the Album Of The Year category for his appearance on Kanye West’s Donda. His feature there earned him one of the two nods in Best Rap Song category including Kanye’s “Jail”. He also is also nominated with his guest appearance with Nas on DMX’s “Bath Salt”.

As of now, JAY-Z has won a total of 23 Grammy Awards in his career. Last year, his wife Beyonce made history becoming the most-decorated woman and awarded singer in Grammy history with 28 Grammy wins.

For this year’s Best Rap Album category, the nominees include J. Cole’s The Off-Season, Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, Nas’ King’s Disease II, Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, and Kanye West’s Donda.

Jon Batiste leads the show with 11 nominations, while Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R. all come in second at eight nods each. The full list of nominees can be viewed here.

The 64th annual Grammy Awards takes place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on January 31 and will be aired live on CBS.
