Riot grrrl band the Linda Lindas have shared a new single inspired by vocalist/guitarist Bela’s cat, Nino.
Featured on their 2020 debut EP was a track about Bela’s siamese cat Monica, and the group say Nino got jealous and wanted his own song.

“Nino” also features an actual animal playing an instrument.
“If you listen carefully, there is a real-life, remarkably talented cat named Lil Dude playing piano [on “Nino”],” the band say in a press release. “We have the footage! Enjoy!”
The single comes ahead of the Linda Lindas’ forthcoming 2022 studio release and follows their viral hit “Racist, Sexist Boy,” which garnered praise after their live set earlier this year at the L.A. Public Library.
The Linda Lindas were also recently featured in an episode of Dr. Martens’ documentary film series, which chronicled the intersection of feminism and punk in L.A.
