FKA Twigs Enlists The Weeknd for New Song ‘Tears in the Club’

FKA twigs has returned with a new song called “Tears In The Club,” and it features a verse from The Weeknd.

The electronic dance track — produced by Arca, Cirkut, and El Guincho — is her first offering since last month’s arrival of “Measure of a Man” from The Kings Man soundtrack.

The imagery of the song’s lyrics isn’t hard to depict. While the music is turned up on the dance floor and folks are mingling and letting loose, FKA twigs is in a stall in the ladies’ room, with her mascara running from balling her eyes out over a man.

FKA twigs is finding it hard to contain her sobbing because she can’t sever ties with this seductive partner, whose charm is hard to resist

The Weeknd knows he has a tight grip on his woman’s deep emotions, hoping this lamentation experience for her is cathartic, even though there’s potential for him to play heartbreaker again.

“Tears In The Club” is accompanied by a music video directed by Amber Grace Johnson. Watch it below.

FKA twigs last issued an album in 2020 titled Magdalene. She teased earlier this year that she worked on an album during quarantine. No album release date or title has been announced at this time.

Most recently, The Weeknd appeared on Aaliyah’s posthumous song “Poison.”  It was the most-added song at R&B radio stations this week. It also is the first single from the late singer’s future album slated to arrive via Blackground Records 2.0 / EMPIRE.

As for his solo music, The Weeknd is working on Dawn, the follow-up to 2020’s Afters Hours. The album’s focus track, “Take My Breath,” arrived in August. He plans to go on a stadium tour to support his last album in summer 2022.

The Weeknd scored three 2022 Grammy nominations, including two Album of the Year nods, for his work on Doja Cat’s Planet Her and Kanye West’s Donda
