Spider-Man: No Way Home had the second-biggest opening weekend of all time, according to an updated box office report from Sony. The film earned $260 million domestically in its opening weekend, despite being released amid the COVID-19 pandemic. That beats Avengers: Infinity War‘s total of $257 million.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was directed by Jon Watts, who also directed the first two solo films centered on Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The newest film picks up after Peter is revealed as Spider-Man to the entire world. Parker turns to Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, for a spell that can recover his anonymity. But the plan goes awry.
