These Sick Metallica Ride the Lightning Paintings Will Benefit a Children’s Cancer Hospital

Illustrator Felipe Mora has been tapped for part two of the Dealing Out The Agony series, which offers one artist’s visual interpretations of a classic album for charity. Based on Metallica’s Ride the Lightning, proceeds from this campaign will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of San Vicente Foundation to help improve the quality of care and life expectancy of children dealing with cancer in Colombia.

A crowdfunding campaign for the effort describes it as follows:

“It will look and feel like a vinyl record – but inside will contain eight 12×12 inch prints of pure visual violence and mayhem. ‘Dealing Out The Agony II’ will become the perfect accompaniment to the music itself. Pour over the artworks as the music fills your ears – stick them on your wall to brighten up any living space – set fire to them as a sacrifice to the dark one… the power is yours!”

An Indiegogo campaign for the project is seeking an initial target of $5,100, which will pay for printing costs, a $1,000 starting donation to the Children’s Hospital of San Vicente Foundation, and to compensate Felipe for his time and work. Once the target is reached, 60% of all profits will go towards the Children’s Hospital of San Vicente Foundation. As of press time, the total donated sum stands at $4,973; almost there!
