The 2022 Urban One Honors recipients have been announced. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Timbaland, Gamble and Huff, and Jennifer Hudson will be honored.
Songwriting and production duo Jam & Lewis will receive the Lifetime Achievement award for their decade-spanning career.
Producer Timbaland will be presented with the Music Innovation award, while Jennifer Hudson will be honored with the Entertainment Icon award. She is also nominated for Best Original Song at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards for “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” from the Respect soundtrack.
Gamble and Huff, the songwriting duo who created Philadelphia International Records, will receive the Living Legends award. Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs-Leonard will be celebrated with the Inspirational Impact award.
The two-hour telecast, hosted by Ne-Yo, airs Monday, Jan. 17, on TV One and Cleo TV. Presenters will include Jermaine Dupri, Marlon Wayans and Vashawn Mitchell. There will be performances by Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Kelly Price and Tank.
