Col3trane Taps Lucky Daye for New Song ‘Bag’

Sometimes you can go above and beyond to prove your love for a person, but still, they’re never satisfied with your strides to see them smile. Col3trane enlists Lucky Daye to help him explore this topic on his latest song, “Bag.”

Laden with piano and ‘90s-type drumming, all handled by the always in-demand Camper, this dynamic tune covers Daye and Col3trane giving their all to their women, who aren’t returning the sentiments.

Commenting on the inspiration behind “Bag,” Col3trane said in a statement that it’s “ about giving everything you can to someone…material and emotional, and it still is not enough.”

In describing the song’s creation process, he added, “I wrote this song with Lucky and Camper on Lucky’s birthday in around October 2020. I sat on it for a while, made a lot of different versions and ended up going back in on it with Camper about a year later. He laid all the keys and bells pads in about 3 hours, solos and all. Bridge included. Watching him do that was crazy.”

“Bag” comes on the heels of Col3trane’s SG Lewis-produced, first single, “Californication.” It arrived with an accompanying visual last fall. Both songs will be on his upcoming debut album, Lush Life, due sometime later this year.

Col3trane’s last project, Heroine, was released in 2019.
