Ghost’s Tobias Forge: “I Am a Dictator and Control Freak”

Does anyone think Ghost‘s Tobias Forge is a union-friendly, group-hug kind of guy? Come on, the dude created his band with all the focus on him and his entire backing crew relegated to ‘Nameless Ghoul 1 – Whatever.’ And in a new interview, Forge comes clean, saying he is definitely the control freak people think he is, but that he also works with people when he can.

Speaking to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Forge said:

“In every band I’ve ever had, every song I’ve ever written, I was always called a dictator, a control freak who couldn’t work with anyone else. And I am a dictator and control freak. But I can work with people.”

“I found that I can work really well with someone I respect, who is always pushing for the best. They make me want to write better, to get my game up a little.”

We gotta admit, we repsect this — at least the guy’s honest. There are plenty of insane band leaders who swear at all times that they’re just misunderstood, but if it’s your show, just say so.
