A Modern Life helps the band navigate struggles with identity and expectations. It’s filled with hope and the desire to stay true to oneself. The album was produced by the band with help from Yves Rothman (Yves Tumor, Miya Folick) and Chris Walla.

“It’s about survival,” Matt Lowell says of the album in a press release. “Navigating through all that’s thrown at us. Maintaining who we are and where we want to be. Music itself has been so powerful for us in our own survival. It can change everything in an instant. As a band, we’ve got a lot of reverence for it and strive for it. We don’t take it for granted.”

Lowell also spoke to The Big Takeover about working with Thirty Tigers for the record. “They have amazing artists like Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell. It’s just a different system for us, we’re in it for the long haul, finding fans, growing a fanbase that cares. We’re much more comfortable in that situation.”
