While Tiana Major9 presented a winning rap delivery on “2 Seater” featuring Smino, she softens her tone a bit on “Try Peace.” It’s the second offering from her forthcoming EP, Fool Me Once, out March 15.
Since Major9 has been hurt one time or another, she finds it difficult to let her walls down with her new partner, grounded in more positive thinking.
Tired of getting the same results when she gets in over her head and ruins a potential relationship, she allows herself to be vulnerable and folds into the arms of the person who nurtures her with nothing but love and patience.
“One of my favourite songs I’ve ever written,” wrote Major9 on Instagram.
To support the new track, Major9 issues a supporting visual. The video starts with the pre-occupied singer pulling up to her home and dropping her groceries outside the car.
She is pictured in other scenes as someone with their mind in love, watching a cycle of clothes wash while she sings the track produced by PRGRSHN.
As stated earlier, Major9 launched the Fool Me Once era with the Smino-guested “2 Seater.” It arrived with a companion music video.
Major9’s pending four-track release is the first music collection since she remixed her At Sixes and Sevens project. That release was lauded following its digital drop, making Rated R&B’s year-end albums list in 2020.
At present, Major9 is taking a break from Jazmine Sullivan’s Heaux Tales Tour, where she’s the opening act.
Sullivan is recovering from COVID-19. The North American trek is expected to resume soon.
