Erica Campbell, one half of the gospel duo Mary Mary, has released a new single titled “Positive.” The uplifting anthem was produced by Warryn Campbell who also co-wrote the song with Campbell and Juan Winans.
Like a ray of sunshine, “Positive” is bound to brighten anyone’s day with its breezy production and optimistic lyrics. “Feeling sure / Feeling clear / Feeling positive,” Campbell sings.
Speaking on her new single, Campbell explained, “Words have power. Positive is a good word even though it’s now connected to something else due to COVID. I just wanted to take that word back and give it the power it deserves. Being positive, thinking positive, knowing that God is sovereign and in control. Knowing the difference between what He is doing and what I am trying to do.”
“Positive” comes with a supporting video directed by James Earl.
“Positive” is the lead single from Campbell’s upcoming third studio album, which is slated to release Sept. 23 via My Block Inc./SRG-ILS Group.
The album will follow Campbell’s 2015 LP, Help 2.0, which included her hit single “I Luh God” featuring Big Shizz (LaShawn Daniels). The song peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.
On Easter Sunday (April 17), Campbell’s episode of Uncensored will premiere on TV One at 10 p.m. EST. Viewers will get a first-hand account of Campbell’s success and the obstacles she has faced throughout her career.
