Robert “Freddy Krueger” Englund and Don Dokken Reunite for Gibson’s New Web Series ‘Metal and Monsters’

It is impossible to separate heavy metal from horror films. Ever since the first metal band got their name from a Boris Karloff movie advertised on a nearby theater marquee, heavy music and monster movies have been inseparable. Now, guitar makers Gibson have decided to examine this on via new web series, Metal and Monsters — and man, do they have some cool guests on the first episode.

Hosted by Rob Zombie bassist Matt Montgomery, AKA Piggy D, AKA Count D, the show examines metal and horror’s unbreakable bond. And for the first episode, D is reuniting Robert Englund, the actor who portrayed razor-handed pizza-face Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street films, and Don Dokken of Dokken, whose track “Dream Warriors” was the anthemic accompaniment to the third installment of the franchise. The episode also includes never-before-seen photos from the “Dream Warriors” video shoot.

Meanwhile, the series has a few more ghoulish delights in store. Here are some of the other segments in this first episode:
