Do the pressures of life currently weigh you down? Elaine has a new single titled “Shine” that can offer a ray of hope.
On this alternative-styled track, where soulful elements meet traces of pop, Elaine sings about a relationship in which she wants the person to show off the beauty within them that she sees. She also harps on how she doesn’t want to dim their light but help brighten it for the world.
“‘Shine’ is exactly what it feels like to loosen your grip and let go of fear, more particularly the fear of love, in all its forms,” said Elaine.
“At the time [,] I wrote it from a place of heartbreak – watching someone you love not love themselves or love you the way you love them, but wishing them the best regardless because you see the light in them.”
In celebration of the song’s release, Elaine released the accompanying video directed by Jesse Ray Diamond.
“Shine” will appear on Elaine’s untitled debut album to be released under Columbia Records. It has no release date at this time.
Last spring, Elaine released “Right Now” and its supporting video. She also teamed up with Apple Music to debut a Home Session EP, which consisted of a stripped-down version of the latter track. It was paired with an acoustic take of “Risky,” taken from her Elements project from 2019.
