We’re just days away from Music’s Biggest Night. The 64th Grammy Awards will take place this Sunday, April 3, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah, airs live at 8 p.m. EST on CBS and Paramount+.
Nominations for the 2022 Grammys were announced in November 2021. Jon Batiste earned the most nominations, with 11 in total. H.E.R. came in a close second in the field with eight new nominations.
Other nominees included Jazmine Sullivan, Silk Sonic, Snoh Aalegra, Givēon, PJ Morton, and Leon Bridges, to name a few.
Bridges made history as the second male artist to have their first three proper albums land Best R&B Album nominations.
SZA also made noise in the general field, netting her first Album of the Year consideration for her involvement in Doja Cat’s acclaimed Planet Her album.
Additionally, Sullivan has had a winning streak in her road to the Grammys, from first time No.1s on R&B radio and Billboard and tons of distinct accolades.
Following the nominations announcement, the Recording Academy rescheduled the Grammys. It was initially set to happen in late January in Los Angeles.
Performers so far include Jon Batiste, H.E.R., Cynthia Ervio and many more.
Before winners are revealed, the Rated R&B editorial team places their bets on who will walk away with Grammys in the R&B field. But first, check out the nominations again.
