H.E.R.’s performance at the 64th Grammy Awards was among the highlights on Sunday evening. The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/musician gave an electrifying performance with the help of some of her iconic friends.
The 24-year-old opened her set with “Damage,” which was nominated for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. The legendary producer/songwriter duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis appeared by her side to play the keytar and bass.
After briefly playing a drum solo, H.E.R. picked up her mic to perform her stadium anthem, “We Made It.” Although H.E.R. is an R&B artist at her core, she doesn’t limit her artistry to one genre.
With Blink 182’s Travis Barker on the drums, rock star Lenny Kravitz joined H.E.R. on stage to perform his Grammy-nominated classic “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”
H.E.R. was nominated in eight categories at the Grammys this year. She won Best Traditional R&B Song for her Oscar-winning track “Fight For You,” produced by D’Mile.
Today (April 5), H.E.R. kicks off the second leg of her Back of My Mind Tour in Los Angeles, California. She will play across major cities in the U.S., including Denver, New Orleans, Cincinnati and St. Louis.
The tour supports her Grammy-nominated debut album, Back of My Mind. The album, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, includes features from Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Thundercat, Lil Baby and more.
Outside of music, H.E.R. is gearing up for her role as Squeak in the upcoming musical adaption of The Color Purple. Fantasia, Halle Bailey and Ciara will also star in the film.
