Daniel Caesar’s ‘Who Hurt You?’ and ‘Hold Me Down’ Now Certified Gold

Daniel Caesar has gained two new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“Who Hurt You?” and “Hold Me Down” have each been certified gold for selling more than 500,000 equivalent units.

The former tune, which features additional vocals by T-Pain, has garnered more than 164 million streams on Spotify to date. The Jordan Evans and Matthew Burnett-produced track was originally released in 2018 as a standalone single.

Meanwhile, “Hold Me Down” appeared on Caesar’s 2017 debut album, Freudian

The freshly-certified platinum album has produced four other certified releases: “Best Part” featuring H.E.R. (5x multi-platinum); “Get You” featuring Kali Uchis (4x multi-platinum); “We Find Love” (gold); and “Blessed” (gold).

At Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Caesar was nominated for five trophies, all for Justin Bieber’s smash single “Peaches” featuring him and Givēon. The trio performed the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper on the main stage.

In February, Caesar joined Omar Apollo for his stellar new single “Invincible.” The song is lifted from Apollo’s forthcoming album Ivory, out April 8.

In 2019, Caesar released Case Study 01. The project featured “Love Again,” a hit duet featuring Brandy nominated for Best R&B Performance in 2020. Pharrell Williams, Sean Leon, Jacob Collier and John Mayer also appeared on Case Study 01.
