Maxwell and Robert Glasper to Headline Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley

There’s yet another festival for music lovers to enjoy. Maxwell and Robert Glasper will launch the Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley on July 30 and July 31 at the Charles Krug Winery in St. Helen, California.

Glasper, who recently released his Black Radio III album, has been named the festival’s artist-in-residence, curating a set hosted by comedian Dave Chapelle. In addition, Erykah Badu, Ledisi, BJ the Chicago Kid, Terrace Martin, and D Smoke will participate in Glasper’s on-stage experience.

Maxwell, who is almost finished with his NIGHT Tour and readying a three-night show in Las Vegas, will take the stage as a headliner.

The legendary singer will be supporting his new single “Off,” which scored his eighth chart-topper on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this spring. Maxwell will also run through his catalog of classics and fan favorites.

Other artists on the bill include Anderson .Paak, Thundercat, Phony Ppl,  Keyon Harrold, Flying Lotus, and countless others. Additionally, yasiin bey & Talib Kweli will reunite on stage as Black Star.

Steven Bensusan, the President of Blue Note Entertainment Group, shared that the vision behind Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley was inspired by Glasper’s Robtober stint, held last fall in NYC.

“Glasper curates a month of shows and collaborations spanning across the genres of jazz, R&B, hip hop, soul and comedy, resulting in impromptu performances by celebrities and unannounced special guests,” said Bensusan.

“It is our plan to create an outdoor festival style version of Robtober in the spirit of a traditional jazz festival featuring spontaneous collaborations and once in a lifetime improvised performances.”

Glasper is equally as excited to be involved with this event. “I can’t wait to hold a festival with some of my favorite artists along with my boy Dave Chappelle in Napa. On a vineyard with music and wine?! It’s going down! Come drink some wine with us!”

Tickets for the Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley will be available for sale on Tuesday, April 26, at BlueNoteJazzFestival.com
