Tamar Braxton Announces 2022 Tour Dates

Tamar Braxton is getting out in front of the crowd again with a series of show dates. On April 30 and May 1, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter will play back-to-back shows at Bethesda Blues and Jazz in Bethesda, Maryland.

Braxton will then perform additional dates in May and June, most of which will be festivals and other R&B-led events, including the Nashville R&B Fest. Keith Sweat, 112, Monica and Tevin Campbell are also on the lineup for select shows featuring Braxton.

On Sept. 3, which happens to be the anniversary of Braxton’s acclaimed album Love and War, she will perform at the Labor Day of Love concert in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Revealing the list of dates on Instagram, Braxton wrote in the caption for fans who get tickets that she’ll “have something special and NEW” for them.

Tickets are available on select platforms where they are sold.

In June 2021, Braxton told Entertainment Tonight that she was working on two new albums. The announcement came years after she claimed 2017’s Bluebird of Happiness would be her final studio album.

Talking to ET’s Brice Sander‍, Braxton revealed, “I’ve said this before, this is my best work yet, but this is my best Tamar yet, so therefore this is my super best work yet. This is me living in my truth, being this new Tamar, this newfound relationship with myself, and I’m really loving the music that’s coming out of me now.”

Braxton said several challenging life events, including a personal situation from summer 2020, would be delivered in music form.

“I do definitely speak about those dark times and definitely those times where I needed help and didn’t know how to cry out for it,” she expressed.

“And so it’s a lot of inspirational, magical songs that will really help people who don’t know who to turn to and needs to be healed and don’t know how to heal.”

Back in fall 2020, Braxton almost reached the top spot on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with “Crazy Kinda Love.” The Whitney Houston-inspired tune peaked at No. 2, becoming the seventh top 10 single by Braxton. Most impressive is that she has had ten songs appear on this chart.

Braxton contributed to Maverick City Music’s Grammy-nominated album Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition on the song “Sunday Morning.” She also showed up on Elijah Blake’s most recent album The Neon Eon

In the acting world, Braxton is set to recur in BET+’s new original series, Kingdom Businessstarring Yolanda Adams and Serayah. The gospel drama series premieres on May 19.
