Inglewood, California, native SiR is back with his new single “Satisfaction.”
The mellow ballad, produced by Rascal, is punctuated by delicate acoustic guitar plucks courtesy of Steve Octave. SiR soulfully croons about a complicated relationship that certainly isn’t easy, like Sunday morning.
“As much as I hope one day things could still work / We both know the deal / This isn’t as simple as satisfaction / I wish the future never happened / Oh, I wish I could stay in your arms,” he sings.
Of his new single, SiR explains: “‘Satisfaction’ is about wanting what you can’t have. We sometimes find ourselves in situations where we can’t be who or what someone wants us to be and this song encapsulates all that for me.”
“Satisfaction” is the lead single from SiR’s upcoming third album on Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records.
“This is the official introduction to my next chapter where things are much more complicated than they seem,” he affirms.
“Satisfaction” arrives with an accompanying video directed by Jude Liana.
SiR’s forthcoming untitled album will follow sophomore effort, Chasing Summer, ranked No. 10 in Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2019 list. The album included SiR’s Kendrick Lamar-assisted single “Hair Down,” which scored his first gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Chasing Summer featured additional appearances from Jill Scott (“Still Blue”); Sabrina Claudio (“That’s Why I Love You”); Zacari (“Mood”); Kadhja Bonet (“New Sky”); Lil Wayne (“Lucy’s Love”); and Smino (“LA Lisa”).
Since releasing Chasing Summer, SiR has appeared on Kaytranada’s Bubba album, collaborated with Boogie on “Rapper Weed,” covered The Isley Brother’s “Footsteps in the Dark, Pt. 1 & 2,” teamed up with Alicia Keys for a COLORs performance (“3 Hour Drive“) and contributed to the Judas and The Black Messiah soundtrack.
