Inayah Shares New Single ‘Always Something’

Inayah is in album mode. The rising singer has debuted the new single “Always Something” from her forthcoming sophomore album, Insecure. It includes writing assistance from Oscar-nominated super-producer Dixson and Omari “G.O.” Massenburg (DaniLeigh, Rotimi).

“Always Something” is a relatable tune, paired with finger snaps and a steady electric guitar, that speaks directly to the single woman juggling the family, the career, and everything else. She wants and deserves me time to relax and recharge but knows that it’s impossible to achieve when she’s always on call for someone else.

Inayah shared a music video for “Always Something.” It follows the lives of different people trying to balance their personal situations.

As part of the campaign for “Always Something,” Inayah tacked on a second visual that found her taking a hand in promoting Insecure. The highly creative clip sees Inayah portraying two versions of herself: her as a new mom and the other as a turn-up queen.

She sums up the personal direction of the album over the piano sample from Beethoven’s timeless piece “Fur Elise.”

Throughout the two-minute video, certain words are emphasized that leave the impression they’re actual song titles from the LP.

“Always Something” is the first taste of new music from Inayah, following the June 2021 arrival of her Side A EP. In December 2019, she put out S.O.L.A.R. as her first official album. The 12-song set included the fan-favorite “Best Thing,” which has surpassed 54.8 million plays on Spotify.

Inayah played at Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit earlier this month.
