Fousheé is determined to convince herself that all is well. The extreme volume of chaotic rock roars planted in between the half-whispered vocals and lines of deception on her new single “I’m Fine” would beg to differ.
She softly sings, “I am fine / I swear I don’t mind / Sticks and stones to curb my appetite / I’ll let it slide / For the hundredth time / I’m fine.”
Fousheé backs this message of contentment with a self-directed music video. The clip sees the rising singer playing the guitar in a white-sheeted bed in front of a wall of almost fridge-collected drawings.
Right when the abrupt and abrasive snippets of heavy metal make a brief disturbance, Fousheé switches from all there to unhinged.
“I’m Fine” comes a month after Fousheé’s song “Double Standard,” also accompanied by a visual. Both pieces are expected to appear on Fousheé’s forthcoming project on Trackmasters Entertainment/RCA Records.
Fousheé released her debut album, Time Machine, in June 2021.
In August, Fousheé will play at the inaugural LetsGetFr.ee Festival at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York. Jhené Aiko, Missy Elliott, and Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals are also scheduled to perform.
