Summer Walker and Ari Lennox have earned a top ten entry on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart this week, as their duet “Unloyal” rises to No. 10. It’s the first song from Walker’s hit album Still Over It to make this airplay-driven list.
Walker’s Adult R&B radio accomplishments include five entries, three of which cracked the top ten. “Back Home,” a Trey Songz-led single in which she co-starred, remained at No. 1 for three weeks in late 2020. Her second best was “Playing Games” (No. 2 peak), the 3x multi-platinum single from her blockbuster debut album, Over It.
“Unloyal” marks Lennox’s second top ten victory at Adult R&B radio. The Washington, D.C., native’s certified gold track “Pressure” reached No. 1 earlier this year, commanding the spot for three weeks. She came close in with the title track to her debut album Shea Butter Baby which featured J. Cole. The platinum-selling single peaked at No. 11 in September 2019.
Walker released her latest album, Still Over It, in November 2021. The LP, issued on LVRN/Interscope Records, was headed by “Ex For a Reason,” featuring JT of City Girls. It also included a range of cameos from SZA, Pharrell, Omarion, Lil Durk, and Ciara.
Walker, who remixed her SZA-assisted track “No Love” with Cardi B in March, will be supporting her recent work with a few upcoming concerts.
On June 24, she’s headlining A Hot Summer Night in LA at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The self-curated show features performances from Lennox, Joyce Wrice, and Alex Vaughn. Jazmine Sullivan is also tapped as a special guest for the one-night concert.
Additionally, Walker is set to perform at this year’s Day N Vegas festival.
In May, Lennox partnered with Coca-Cola to remake Queen’s “A Kind of Magic.” She was one of seven artists to cover the classic for Coca-Cola’s Coke Studio launch.
Lennox is finalizing the official tracklist for her untitled sophomore album. Also included on Lennox’s summer performance itinerary is the Cincinnati Music Festival in July.
