R&B singers Shelley FKA DRAM and Alex Isley have teamed with podcaster Rory for his new single “I Want You But You’ll Never Know.”
The smooth-sailing track is about wanting something you can’t have. In this case, Shelley and Isley sing about their desire to be with someone who currently isn’t available.
“Just take a breather sometimes / ‘Cause I want it / But can’t have it / You swear I stay acting / Just believe me sometimes / I’m really gonna call you,” Shelley sings in the first verse.
Isley offers her perspective in the second verse. “I don’t mean to bother / But I needed to call ya / And I don’t care you’re with her / I guess I’ll try back tomorrow / Can’t help that I miss you / Ask her what’s the issue / With sharing your heart, your body parts and your mеntal,” Isley sings.
Rory doesn’t appear in the song. However, he co-wrote it with Shelley and co-produced it with xSDTRK and Azad Nacify.
“I Want You But You’ll Never Know” is the first single from Rory’s forthcoming album that will release on Avant Garden. “Most of this album was created based off of studio conversations… pertaining to our personal lives falling apart,” says Rory.
To coincide with his single release, Rory debuted the first episode of his new content series inspired by the album.
