Watch: Corey Taylor’s Son, Who Cries In the Tub When His Band Is Compared to Slipknot, Joins Slipknot Onstage

Last December, Griffin Taylor, son of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, said that he has fits of severe depression when his band Vended is compared to Slipknot. Which is why it’s a little weird and kind of silly that he joined Slipknot onstage during the band’s set at RomExpo in Bucharest this past week.

In case you forgot, here’s what Griffin said about his band getting compared to Slipknot:

“For me, I do see people’s responses to it, and I get a lot of great responses, because I love the crowd. I love the fans because they’ve been there for my dad and they will be there for me and I will not force them to be. But we do get backlash because of the comparison and the similarities.

“But we are different. And there have been times where I’ve read some hate comments on YouTube and I literally went into the bathtub, filled the bathtub up and just immediately started crying. I was just so fucking in a bad place before we got here. And now I’m in a good place because I’m with my friends.”

We’re glad Griffin is in a better place, but we’ll say this — if the dude doesn’t want to deal with constant comparisons, he might not want to join his father onstage to play “Custer” in front of thousands of people. It also doesn’t help that his vocals and vocal rhythms sound exactly like his dad’s.

Check out Griffin joining Slipknot below. Slipknot’s The End, So Far drops September 30th, and is already available for preorder. Meanwhile, catch the nine-headed Iowan sex mesa at one of their upcoming dates:
