M. Shadows Teases Beatboxing on New Avenged Sevenfold Album

This is either a huge creative leap or a funny bit of trolling. M. Shadows, the vocalist for popular metal band Avenged Sevenfold, told fans in July that he was in the studio recording vocals for the metal giants’ eighth album.

Though we don’t know much of anything about how the new record sounds yet except the fact that yes, it is happening, Shadows took to Twitter to post a video of lead guitarist Synyster Gates beatboxing with a caption suggesting he might be trolling fans… or not.

In February, Avenged Sevenfold tweeted photos of Shadows and Gates watching the 78-piece orchestra that is featured on the band’s new album.

Drummer Brooks Wackerman posted about the album on Instagram, saying:

“Well… this Happened on Tuesday. We-Avenged Sevenfold- started writing this record 4 years ago and I can’t believe we are 90% done…One of the perks-in the creative process- is that we are able to track a 78 piece orchestra on our records. The fact that we are able to bring incredible musicians together to enhance our art still gives me chills.. I can’t wait for the the world to hear this.. all I can say it’s unlike Anything we’ve ever released.. ALRIGHT and good night!”

Shadows said in April that Avenged Sevenfold plan to have the record mixed in August, with plans to release the album in late 2022 or early 2023.

Avenged Sevenfold’s most recent album, The Stage, came out in 2016. The band has been clear that the pandemic caused them to lose time. In fairness, they do have an orchestra with almost 80 people on the album.

In April, the singer explained what his band had been doing in the downtime but assuring that the record would be finished and was coming.

We kind of took some time off for family, COVID, weird touring circumstances, some changes within our team… And we are still currently with one record left on Warner Brothers Records.

So, what do you think? Will there be beatboxing on the new Avenged Sevenfold?
