Clutch Takes Us to Slaughter Beach in New Music Video

Some things are worth staying up for, and damn it new Clutch music is one of those things. Right at the crack of midnight, the quartet from Maryland dropped their latest single “Slaughter Beach” and an accompanying music video. And as far as Clutch videos go, it sure does go places.

Directed by My Good Eye’s David Brodsky, this is the third music video released in anticipation of the band’s 13th studio album Sunrise on Slaughter Beach and it continues the storyline that’s been running over the last few videos. If you’re just tuning in today, definitely check out “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)” and “We Strive for Excellence.” You’ll thank me later.

Clutch frontman and immortal wordsmith Neil Fallon said he drew inspiration for the not-so-normal locale on some familiar local shores.

“The lyrics for Slaughter Beach were inspired by a late night walk along the southern Delaware Bay. Odd things happen there.”

Mmmmkay. As a Jersey boy myself, I can’t imagine things are that much different on the other side of the river. But what do I know? I’m just a dude behind a keyboard and Fallon and his bandmates are space truckin’ shoguns lookin’ for a little spacegrass.

Sunrise on Slaughter Beach will release on September 16 and is available for preorder via Weathermaker Music.
