Serpentwithfeet Says ‘I’m Pressed’ on New Song

Following his gorgeous collaboration with New York DJ and producer Moby, serpentwithfeet returns with “I’m Pressed.” It marks his first solo song since his Apple Music rendition of George Michael’s “Kissing a Fool.”

Serpentwithfeet is on brand with “I’m Pressed,” recalling club music from his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. He’s stumbled across some tea on a recently dumped guy that he has put on his radar to court and treat better than the guy’s last man.

Based on these lyrics, serpentwithfeet is the perfect suitor. “I’m no good at sports / I could never play the field / I like touching on you / I like the way you feel / I’m wiping out all competition / You’re the one I’m trying to get in / Never been lazy / Ima work it.” Watch out, fellas — serpentwithfeet’s the real deal.

“I’m Pressed” has been declared as serpentwithfeet’s new single. It is uncertain if it will lead to a new album or project. He last released Deacon in March 2021. The 11-song album featured the first single, “Fellowship,” featuring Sampha and Lil Silva, and the standout “Heart Storm,” featuring Nao. Serpentwithfeet’s visual for the latter track was directed by Domo Jones and Alex Knowles.

Serpentwithfeet turned in Deacon’s Grove, a companion EP to Deacon, in November 2021. It featured appearances from Alex Isley and Ambré. That December, he’d find out that Deacon was named one of Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021

In addition to new music this week, he rolled out the red carpet for the premiere of his new series Serpent’s Parlor. The first episode was powered by Vans and had its first showing in Beverly Hills, California. More to come about how you can watch the first show and future ones.

Beginning Oct. 10 in Seattle, Washington, serpentwithfeet will perform across the nation for his headlining Deacon Tour. He’ll be joined for the North American trek by rising acts Devin Tracy and Apollo Mighty. Get tickets for various concerts on his official website.
