Inayah has shared “Most Girlz,” the second preview of her forthcoming sophomore album, Insecure.
On the piano-laden tune, the emerging singer is amazed that she has found someone with the courage to stick around through thick and thin. She almost missed out on this healthy love since those examples weren’t prominent in her environment.
“I love how you be callin’ me out / But you never call it quits / But when our shit gets real / I know this shit is real as it gets,” Inayah sings.
Of her new track, Inayah says,” ‘Most Girlz’ is a story of transparency about how we juggle our deepest insecurities without realizing that there’s someone in our life that will love us through it! Often, we’re so settled into our flaws that the love surrounding us goes unnoticed.”
For any young woman going through this at the moment, Inayah offers advice: “Allowing ourselves to be loved above all of our deeply buried, self-critiquing feelings, is a challenge in itself but… it is one that can be conquered.”
“Most Girlz” is the second song released from Inayah’s Insecure album, which releases Sept. 9. via EMPIRE. This past spring, she shared “Always Something,” which she co-wrote with Oscar-nominated songwriter and producer Dixson and Omari “G.O.” Massenburg. She paired Insecure’s lead single with a music video.
Around the same time, Inayah debuted the official album trailer. it was a two-minute clip that showcased her sense of humor and creativity.
Insecure follows Inayah’s Slide A EP, released in June 2021. She dropped her debut album S.O.L.A.R. in December 2019. The album was powered by the singles “Sugar Daddy” and “Best Thing.”
