…And Oceans Release New Single and Video “Cloud Heads”

A brand new song from the symphonic black metal outfit …And Oceans has materialized seemingly out of nowhere today, along with an accompanying music video that you can watch below.

The track, titled “Cloud Heads,” is apparently part part of an upcoming unnamed album that’s set for release on January 27, 2023. Though we don’t know its name, record label Seasons of Mist says preorder information and more info regarding the album will be announced soon.

Regardless of its nearly nebulous existence as a track, founding member and guitarist Timo Kontio said “Cloud Heads” was an integral piece when writing the rest of the album.

“‘Cloud Heads’ set the tone for the writing process for the new album. It’s only natural to let it continue the journey and prepare people for the new record!”

As you can tell from the video below, the track is full of the kind of atmospheric black metal you’ve come to expect from …And Oceans. After all, they’ve been doing their thing since 1995.

The band was initially supposed to go out on tour this September, but plans were nixed due to logistical reasons. Their tourmates, Auðn, said the cancellation was due to ongoing logistical issues.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the cancellation of our tour with And Oceans this September. This “post” COVID climate has changed logistical terms for the tour drastically and we see no other option than to cancel and cut our losses. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and to those of you who have already bought tickets, turn to your ticket holder for refunds. We will return in full force when the time is right!

“Sincerely, Auðn”

Since there’s no information available about their forthcoming studio effort, I guess we should share information about their last release. That one was called Cosmic World Mother and came out via Seasons of Mist on May 8, 2020.
