Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship’s “Einen Parasites” Merges Anime Gore and Death Metal

Content warning: the following post contains animated depictions of severe gore and dismemberment.

You may have missed it, but gruesome anime imagery and slam death metal apparently go together like peanut butter and chocolate. It’s a phenomenon we’ve outlined in the past — a metal genre known by names like anime slam, anime grind, guro grind, weebogrind, and so on that uses ultra-violent anime imagery to accompany their equally brutal music.

If that sort of twisted marriage of anime and metal sounds like your jam, then feast your eyes and ears on the latest offering from China’s anime-themed slamming, brutal death metal specialists Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship.

The new track, titled “Eien Parasites,” features Vulvodynia‘s Duncan Bentley on guest vocals. The new clip, which pulls double duty as a lyric video, is an anime epic of murder, death, combat, and copious amounts of blood and viscera.

Chinese artist 南极君 once again provided art for the band’s newest release, which can also be seen below.

Though none of the visuals in the video are original, but it’s brutal all the same. Vocalist Kirya Zhang said the inspiration behind the track stemmed from a popular anime about teenage schoolgirls who want to become Japanese idols.

“As with many of our songs, the anime series Love Live! was used as inspiration for the lyrics. Within the video, we included clips from the Fate series, K-On! and Wicked City to fit the song.”

In the past, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship gained some notoriety when their song “Brutal Rush” became the subject of numerous reaction videos online, which Zhang said was something he has a hard time getting used to.

“I have watched them all and it’s a little cringe seeing so many people react to my art, but at the same time it’s an honor!”

With a new album on the horizon, which would be the band’s first new output since their 2018 split release with Cheerleader Concubine titled The Divine Union of Serrated Flesh.

“Eien Parasites” is currently available on streaming platforms, as well as on sale via Bandcamp.
