Turns out everybody really is doing the toxic waltz these days, as former Exodus and current Generation Kill frontman Rob Dukes joined his old outfit to rip through the classic 1989 track “The Toxic Waltz.”
As a band, Exodus has gone through a few shake ups at vocals over the years. And while the untimely death of Paul Baloff forced their hand in 2002, they’ve sort of had a revolving door situation in the past with Baloff, Steve “Zetro” Souza, and Rob Dukes.
Well during the band’s September 9 show in Phoenix, Arizona, the band welcomed Dukes back on stage to participate in their performance of “The Toxic Waltz.”
Dukes is no stranger to live Exodus shows or that song in general, having fronted the band from 2005 to 2014, including all releases from Shovel Headed Kill Machine to Exhibit B: The Human Condition.
You can tell from the video below that Dukes has still got it. And while he he fits right in with the classic Bay Area thrashers.
All of that is to say that the video below is well worth your time if you dig old school thrash metal.
