Grammy Nominated Artist, Hip-Hop Royalty “Fat Joe” to Host BET Hip Hop Awards 2022. The Nominees have been announced!

Grammy®-nominated recording artist, actor, entrepreneur, and media personality Fat Joe” was named host of the trailblazing BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022. Taped from Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, September 30, the broadcast premiere will air Tuesday, October 4, at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.

“Fat Joe is hip hop royalty. He has represented the artform and the Bronx, the birthplace of hip hop, throughout his outstanding musical career. According to the press release of 9/6 “Fat Joe is a treasured friend of the network and we’ve loved seeing and supporting his evolution to becoming the superstar he is today,” said Connie Orlando, EVP, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “We can’t wait to watch him take the stage with his vivacious energy, standing together with today’s hottest and beloved hip hop star.” The annual celebration will bring together the hottest names in hip hop to pay homage to the year’s best in hip hop culture.

The official “BET Hip Hop Awards 2022″ nominations, selected by a voting academy of esteemed music industry insiders, performers, and presenters were announced yesterday 9/12.

The nominee list for the 17th annual BEt Hip Hop Awards includes:

Certified Lover Boy “Drake” leads this year’s nominations with an impressive 14 nods including ‘Best Live Performer,’ ‘Lyricist of the Year,’ ‘Hip Hop Album of the Year,’ ‘Hip Hop Artist of the Year,’ ‘Hustler of the Year,’ twice for ‘Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse,’ three for ‘Best Collaboration,’ twice for ‘Best Hip Hop Video,’ and twice for ‘Song of the Year.’

“Kanye West” follows with 10 nods including ‘Best Live Performer,’ ‘Hip Hop Album of the Year,’ ‘Hip Hop Artist of the Year,’ ‘Producer of the Year,’ ‘Hustler of the Year,’ ‘Best Hip Hop Video,’ ‘Best Collaboration,’ Song of the Year,’ ‘Impact Track,’ and ‘Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse’.

“Kendrick Lamar’s” nine nods include ‘Best Live Performer,’ ‘Lyricist of the Year.’ ‘Hip Hop Album of the Year,’ ‘Hip Hop Artist of the Year,’ twice for ‘Impact Track.’ ‘Video Director of the Year,’ ‘Best Hip Hop Video,’ and ‘Best Collaboration.’ Future rounds out the top four with an impressive eight nods.

Earning six nods each are Baby Keem, Cardi B, and J. Cole. Receiving three nominations are Doja Cat, Lil Durk, Tems, and Young Thug.

Rounding out the nominations are Usher, NAS,  Benny The Butcher, City Girls, Fivio Foreign, Glorilla, Jay-Z, and Megan Thee Stallion who each received two nominations.
