Leven Kali has debuted a visual for his single “Let It Rain” and it’s far from dry.
The cinematic clip, directed by Riley Lattanza, shows Kali catching his groove to the party-ready bop on a dreary night. The video co-stars Chase Alexis, who also shows off her slick moves.
Kali independently released “Let It Rain” in April. The liberating anthem served as the follow-up to his intoxicating number, “EEK.”
In May, Kali dropped a song called “Everything I Want.” At this time, it’s not clear if the three songs will appear on a future project.
Kali’s latest project, HIGHTIDE, was released in 2020. The album featured appearances from Syd, Ty Dolla $ign, Smino, and Topaz Jones. It also landed a spot on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2020 list.
As we wait for Kali’s next body of work, the multi-hyphenate talent is gearing up to launch his headlining Let It Rain Tour. It starts Oct. 28 in West Hollywood, California and will conclude Nov. 19 in Boston, Massachusetts. The 12-city tour will include stops in Seattle, Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
Aside from his own music, Kali has also lent his talents to other acts. Last year, he co-wrote and co-produced Jazmine Sullivan’s single “Tragic,” which later appeared on 2022’s Heaux Tales, Mo’ Tales: The Deluxe. He also co-wrote and appeared on Maeta’s “Doesn’t Mean A Thing” from her EP, Habits.
Most recently, Kali co-wrote and co-produced four tracks on Beyoncé’s latest album, Renaissance, including “Alien Superstar,” “Plastic off The Sofa,” “Virgo’s Groove,” and “Summer Renaissance.”
“Thank you @beyonce and @rickylawson_ for trusting me and pushing me and showing me how to reach the highest heights with grace, class, and most importantly with family. It’s an honor to be a part of this and feels even better to be here with my people,” Kali wrote in an Instagram caption.
