2022 American Music Awards Announced

The nominees for the 2022 American Music Awards have been announced.

Music icon Beyoncé ties with Taylor Swift for most-nominated female artist with six nods each, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album (Renaissance).

Beyoncé’s chart-topping album also dominates the R&B categories, including Favorite R&B Album and Favorite R&B Song (“Break My Soul“).

The Weeknd trails behind with five nominations, including Artist of the Year and Favorite R&B Album (Dawn FM).

Silk Sonic, who recently announced they are withdrawing from 2023 Grammy consideration, picked up two nominations at the American Music Awards. Their debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, is up for Favorite R&B Album and their smash hit “Leave The Door Open” scores a nod for Favorite R&B Song.

Steve Lacy, who recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Bad Habit,” is nominated for Best New Artist.

The 2022 American Music Awards, a fan-voted awards show, will air live from Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Fans can vote at VoteAMAs.com.
