Cuffing season is in full effect. R&B sensation Pink Sweat$ has recruited rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie for a new track called “Lay Up N’ Chill.” It was produced by frequent collaborators Jayson Dezuzio and Kenneth Wright.
Across the sweetly seductive record, Sweat$ projects a desire for an irresistible partner who reaffirms their attachment through deep intimacy and loyalty.
“I know at my worst you gonna ride for me/ Even when it hurts I know you’ll die for me / I always put you first cuz you my everything, you’re my everything,” he sings.
A Boogie Wit da Hoodie injects a melodic verse that’s hard to resist. “Show me what you wanna do without tellin’ it / Tell me you love it without sayin’, ‘I love you’ ’cause I’m over it / And you know you fuck with me the most / ‘Cause I videotape without even exposin’ it / And I gave you them bankrolls without even fludgin’ it,” he raps.
About the new single, Sweat$ says, “‘Lay Up N’ Chill’ is about the desire to have an intimate, lavish night with your significant other.”
“Lay Up N’ Chill” is the first single from Sweat$ since releasing I Feel Good (Asia Edition), a maxi single that features four alternate versions of his 2021 one-off tune.
It comes behind “Don’t Go,” a collaboration led by podcast host Rory, which also features Sinéad Harnett.
The new song also follows his EP, Pink Moon, which arrived in January. The eight-track release featured guest appearances from 6LACK, Sabrina Claudio, KIRBY, Tori Kelly and Blxst. Some singles included “Nothing Feels Better” and “Midnight River.”
In winter 2021, Sweat$ shared his debut album Pink Planet. It marked his first full-length work to be released on Atlantic Records. His stellar debut was featured on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
