Dixson Performs ‘Sweeter’ for COLORS

Dixson made an inaugural visit to the COLORS headquarters to promote his latest EP, 004DAISY

Thee Oscar-nominated songwriter and producer delivered a rousing rendition of “Sweeter.”

Dixson issued 004DAISY on Sept. 16 via Roc Nation. It followed his 2021 EP Darling, among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021.

Discussing the new EP, Dixson said, “I’m not trying to be R&B’s personal Jesus. I’m not as worried about R&B as the rappers and white boys are. 004DAISY is the beta, my own version of freedom. If you let them, they will box you in. This is me boxing back. Round 1. Punching mediocre square in the jaw. My drive is expanding. From God’s ears to yours. Enjoy.”

Ahead of its release, Dixson shared four tracks, including the Tinashe-assisted “Heat” and “Cherry Sorbet” featuring Sevyn Streeter. The former tune is among his most-played songs on Spotify, nearing 650,000 streams.

His tasty collaboration with Streeter received a music video that Weird Life directed.

At the time of publication, “Cherry Sorbet” has reached No. 15 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It also has amassed over 585,000 streams on Spotify since its release in May.

Solo music aside, Dixson reunited with Beyoncé after the “Be Alive” best original song campaign for her seventh studio album Renaissance. He worked on fan favorites “Pure/Honey” and “Virgo’s Groove.”

Additionally, Dixson co-starred on Inayah’s latest project Insecure
