Trey Songz is no longer facing a lawsuit that accused him of rape, TMZ reports. When reached by Pitchfork, Songz’s attorney, Randall M. Awad, confirmed that the case has been dismissed.

The complaint was initially filed in February by a woman (identified as Jane Doe) who claimed that the R&B singer assaulted her in 2016. Songz denied her accusations, and the suit was dismissed in July before being refiled with the same allegations.

According to court documents viewed by Pitchfork, Songz’s legal team successfully argued that the statute of limitations for the woman’s claims expired in 2018, resulting in the suit’s dismissal.

Pitchfork has reached out to Jane Doe’s attorneys for comment and additional information.
