Keke Palmer Announces Pregnancy on ‘SNL’

Keke Palmer is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Darius Daulton. The actress and singer announced that she is pregnant during her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live.

“There’s some rumors going around. People have been in my comments saying ‘Keke is having a baby. Keke is pregnant.’ And I wanna set the record straight: I am,” said Palmer as she showed off her baby bump.

“I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you, but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I mean, l was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, ’cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?”

She added, “… But honestly this has been the biggest blessing. I am so excited. Guys, I’m going to be a mom!”

In other news, Palmer recently launched a new podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, on Amazon Music. Blac Chyna joined as the first guest.

Palmer starred in Jordan Peele’s film Nope, alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Brandon Perea.

She is nominated for two awards at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, including the Female Movie Star of 2022 and the Drama Movie Star of 2022.

The 2022 People’s Choice Awards, hosted by Kenan Thompson, will air simultaneously on NBC and E! on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. ET.

Before that, in March, Palmer starred in the historical thriller, Alice, inspired by the actual events of an enslaved woman who escaped to freedom after living under the iron fist of a harsh master in rural Georgia.

“This film is very close to my heart & I poured my soul into my character, Alice. I hope you love her as much as I do,” wrote Palmer in an Instagram post.

Last year, Palmer teamed with Amazon Original Stories, an imprint of Amazon Publishing, for a series of short stories based on the popular characters she developed on her Instagram account

Southern Belle Insults, co-authored by Jasmine Guillory, consists of five books: My Dear Friend Janet, From the Desk of Lady Miss, Chelsea’s Werk Week, Keri on the Loose, and Sophie Dreams Big.

“What started out as an Instagram sketch, led me to one of my most beloved characters, Lady Miss Jacqueline. She’s always been larger than life—and a huge symbol of the moment when I realized I wanted to create worlds for my audience to get lost in,” said Palmer.
