R.I.P.
YG salutes his fallen soldiers on his new single, “Miss My Dawgs” featuring Lil Wayne. The track is dedicated to rapper and associate Slim 400, who was fatally shot in L.A. last year.
Produced by Gibbo and Ambezza, the Compton rapper bigs up his day ones. “My dawg’s the one who ride for me / They gon’ charge me for a body, they gon’ slide for free / Wherever I be steppin’, they gon’ side with me,” raps YG, while Tunechi lays down a hot verse.
The release comes alongside a heartfelt visual opened with a shot of a Nipsey Hussle mural and finds the two on a black-and-white set while archive footage of Slim 400 projects behind them.
“Miss My Dawg” marks YG’s first music since September’s album, I Got Issues. Lil Wayne can also be heard on Bleu’s “Soul Child“.
