Rising singer and songwriter Brandon Banks has released Natural Progressions – A Film, a nine-minute short film directed by Jacob “Kuba” Bojsza. It shares the same name as his June release.
Shot on 35mm film, the visual was filmed over the course of a week. Banks and Bojsza worked diligently to explore intricate people and settings to accompany the music featured in his Natural Progressions EP.
The short film features four songs from Banks’ latest EP, including “Wonderland,” released ahead of the project.
Banks explains to Rated R&B how Natural Progressions – A Film unlocks the wonders of his mind as a creative.
“The short film gives you some insight into the images floating around in my head as I write the music, and there are subliminal messages scattered throughout that highlight certain lyrics and concepts I’m trying to delve into,” Banks says.
Banks hopes that this short film inspires individuals everywhere to take intentional pauses in their life.
“I want people to go on a mental journey and slow down their mind a bit; everything is too fast-paced in our world these days, hard to really sit, think and feel sometimes. So I just want people to sit, think and feel.”
As 2022 winds down, Banks takes a moment to reflect and set his sights on next year. He wants to increase his musical output and connect with his supporters in person.
“Next year, I want to drop a lot more music than I usually do. I want to travel and hit different music scenes around the world, and I want to finally go on tour.”
