KIRBY Releases New EP ‘I Told You I Would’

KIRBY has released a new EP, I Told You I Would. The five-song collection was inspired by her parents’ love story.

All of the music taken from I Told You I Would finds KIRBY singing over acoustic, stripped-down production. If you’ve followed KIRBY from then to now, you’d realize these were songs she shared online years ago.

Best of all is “All My Love,” where she harks back to momma’s words and praises her partner for being everything and more.

I Told You I Would is the follow-up to KIRBY’s 2021 album Sis. He Wasn’t the One. The 10-song release included multiple singles released throughout that year, including “Break Her Heart for Me,” Boyz II Men” and “Coconut Oil.”

Sis. He Wasn’t the One was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021 list

Rated R&B’s Anders Hare said this about the album: “As an album with a strong lyrical foundation and an evergreen sound, KIRBY’s Sis. He Wasn’t the One should be set to keep music fans of all genres coming back for years to come.”

This year, KIRBY shared several other songs ahead of I Told You I Would. Among those tracks were “Take Care” and “New D.” She also offered the powerful song “Black Leaves” to ABC’s limited series, Women of the Movement.
