The Lucid Drops Their Latest Single, “Mumps”

Just a week after they posted their strange collaboration with Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J, ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson’s band The Lucid has released “Mumps,” the band’s second single off their forthcoming EP Saddle Up and Ride.

For those not in the know, The Lucid was originally announced last year and is a four-piece hard rock group that also features vocalist Vinnie Dombroski, of Sponge, guitarist Drew Fortier and drummer Mike Heller, of Raven and Fear Factory. They released a self-titled album last year.

With this new EP, slated for a January 27 release, the band is looking to get back out onto the road and play some live shows. Unfortunately due to scheduling issues, the band said it’s likely that Fortier and Dombroski will commit to playing the band’s songs as an acoustic duo.

No dates have been announced as of yet, but you can still preorder the EP today via their Bandcamp page. If you get in on the ground floor now, you can hear Violent J on more than just a single song (he’s featured in two).
