On the heels of her tour announcement, Ella Mai has confirmed a deluxe edition of her sophomore album, Heart On My Sleeve, is coming soon.
“The deluxe tracks are some of my favourite songs currently so I’m happy to be able to share them with the world,” Mai said. “I get to bring new life to a body of work that is a year old but remains very close to my heart. ”
Mai will debut these new songs this spring during her newly-announced headlining Heart On My Sleeve Tour.
“It’s almost like reading your diary aloud in front of an audience, but there’s no better place for me to be vulnerable than in my music and on stage with my fans,” Mai shared.
The deluxe edition of Heart On My Sleeve is set for Feb. 2. The standard edition, released last May on 10 Summers/Interscope Records, is Mai’s follow-up to her acclaimed 2018 debut album.
Lucky Daye (“A Mess“), Latto (“Didn’t Say“) and Roddy Rich (“How“) are featured on the album.
The album’s second single, “DFMU,” peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Heart On My Sleeve entered at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. The album also was featured on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
In September 2022, Mai toured alongside Mary J. Blige on the Good Morning Gorgeous Tour. She performed new music from the album, as well as fan favorites.
Starting March 31, Mai will hit the road on her Heart On My Sleeve Tour. It kicks off in Wallingford, Connecticut, and concludes June 1 in Toronto, Canada.
Before the tour, Mai heads to the 65th Grammy Awards as a nominee. She is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Performance for Babyface’s “Keeps On Fallin’.” The star-studded ceremony will broadcast live on Sunday, Feb. 5 on CBS.
