Kayla Rae is giving a voice to everyone who feels like they’re missing love in new single and music video”Blue”

When Kayla Rae packed her bags and relocated from Colorado to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of working in music, she knew that she was destined for greatness. After emerging into the music scene back in 2018 with her breakout single “Practice,” the rising star got her first taste of fame after gaining radio play and opening up for Rae Sremmund, Wiz Khalifa, and Saweetie at KS107.5’s Summer Jam.

Today the R&B singer releases her new single “Blue” with an accompanying music video and she’s giving voice to everyone who’s missing someone they love.

Produced by legendary Grammy-winning duo Stargate, with an accompanying music video via Platoon directed by Daniel Choi, finds Rae wearing ice blue-colored braids as she dances in front of cold, frozen mountains. In other scenes, the singer is seen lying on the floor in a blue dress surrounded by roses. On the dance floor, Rae stood alone singing while the party people danced along in the background.

The message was crystal clear, as she danced to the track wearing all black – the color everyone seems to wear when they’re feeling blue. In this sexy music video, Rae captivates as she expresses raw emotions delivering her signature impassioned vocals drawing the listener and viewer in, leaving us totally enthralled as she sings in the hook,

I aint really been myself/ Ever since you been away/ I heard that your new lil friend is tryna take my place/ Inhale feeling hazy/ You got me talking crazy yeah I been getting wavy,” she sings in the first verse.  The R&B song is a catchy groove with subtle hip-hop beats.  I been feeling like my heart is turning ice blue/ Like a Colorado river it’s been frozen too soon/ Like a tinted Maserati underneath a white moon/ Let the hunnids in my pocket numb the pain I go through/ Blue cuz I’m missing you.”

Kayla made her first major mark on the industry with her 2020 project Pressure which led her to open for Doja Cat, Tyga, and Ashanti just before the world went into lockdown.

With thousands of subscribers on YouTube and Instagram, the R&B singer has been capturing the attention of music lovers for years with original songs, covers, and features. Her cover of Justin Beiber’s “Peaches” brought in 268K YouTube views 1 year ago while her cover of Rihanna’s “Life Me Up” garnered 304K YouTube views.

Earlier this month the singer took to social media to announce the release of her latest single. “…Blue comes out next Friday! So excited for y’all to finally hear this one, she wrote on Instagram. One fan commented on the singer’s post “Been waiting for this amazing track!!!,” while another fan commented, “YES!!! I’ve been blue bc I’ve been missing this song until now. So excited for you and this record.”
