Babyface has released a video for his Ari Lennox-assisted single “Liquor.”
Jean Estene directed the sizzling video, which was filmed at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood, California.
In the video, Lennox, sparkling in an embroidered spaghetti strap gown, comes from behind a red curtain and brings seduction to the stage with a male onlooker.
Babyface plays a snazzy bartender who pours a glass of champagne, which she gives to the man she tempts.
“Liquor” appears on Babyface’s collaborative 2022 album, Girls Night Out, released on Capitol Records. The album features songs with Kehlani, Muni Long, Queen Naija, Sevyn Streeter, Coco Jones, Tiana Major9, Ella Mai and more.
Speaking of Mai, she joined Babyface for “Keeps On Fallin’,” a Grammy-nominated collaboration. The song was recognized in the Best Traditional R&B Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards. It also reached No. 1 on R&B radio and No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Babyface also shared a video for his Mai-assisted release, as well as his collaboration “Simple” with Jones.
Last week (Feb. 24), Babyface reissued Girls Night Out as Girls Night Out (Extended), with two new tracks. Emerging singers Bjrnck and Jenevieve are featured on the expanded edition.
Earlier this month, Babyface returned with “As a Matter of Fact,” his first solo release in eight years. He co-wrote and co-produced the song with Tommy Brown.
“As a Matter of Fact” was released under P Music Group, the label that produced Babyface’s fifth No. 1 R&B single, “No Stoppin’ Us,” with Charlie Wilson, K-Ci Hailey and Johnny Gill. The song, which he co-wrote and co-produced, spent three weeks atop the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Babyface’s latest single arrived ahead of him performing “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVII.
The legendary singer, songwriter and producer is currently on tour with Anita Baker.
As for Lennox, the Washington, D.C., native is also on tour supporting her sophomore album, age/sex/location, which was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
Lennox recently announced the European leg of the tour, which kicks off later this spring.
