After months away gallivanting with Demi Lovato, guitarist Nita Strauss will be returning to the stage with iconic shock rocker Alice Cooper for his upcoming “Too Close For Comfort” North American tour. Kicking off this April in Michigan and ending in late September, the tour will be the first time the two will share the stage since last summer.
In the announcement that Strauss was returning, Cooper said he was excited to have her back, noting that the door was always open but that he was happy to see her branch out and do other things.
“She’s back! Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things. I’m thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she’ll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It’s going to be great to have her back.”
Strauss played in Demi Lovato’s band on the “Holy Fvck” tour. During that time, she even helped teach Lovato a thing or two on guitar. Addressing her return to Alice Cooper’s show, Strauss said she was excited to return to her familiar place in the band.
“From the studio to the stage, it’s always an immense honor to make music with Alice Cooper!! I’m very excited to be rejoining the band on the road for the 2023 dates, and so I’ll see you on the road in April. Let the nightmare return!”
What we don’t know about her return to Alice Cooper’s band is whether Strauss is officially done playing in Demi Lovato’s band. The pop star has a single show scheduled for 2023, so there’s plenty of time for her to rejoin Lovato, given the gaps in Alice Cooper tour dates.
Strauss also has a solo album that’s supposed to come out sometime this year, which given the previous tracks we’ve heard, should be pretty fucking good.
