The world may be getting some new music from Converge, according to a recent Instagram post by drummer Ben Koller. It turns out that as they get ready for an upcoming headlining spring tour, the metalcore four-piece from Massachusetts may be putting together the beginnings of their followup to 2017’s The Dusk In Us.
In his post from yesterday, Koller said they had a “bunch of new songs in the slow cooker,” which not only makes me excited to hear some new Converge, but also makes me really, really want a beef stew right about now.
@converge may have just written the heaviest riff of our career. Bunch of new songs in the slow cooker. Smelling real good so far. Rehearsal was about 10x better this time around thanks to my 3 new favorite toys: @officialtamadrums birch/walnut kit, @liquiddeath @sjcdrums snare, @yamahamusicusa EAD10 ????????
The post came at about the same time that Converge announced they were going to be headlining a tour throughout part of the U.S. this May, with Brutus and Frail Body set to be the supporting acts.
