Earlier this year, Megadeth fans everywhere were instantly jealous of anyone that got to attend the band’s performance at the Budokan in Tokyo, as it was quickly announced that former Megadeth member Marty Friedman would join the band for a couple songs that night.
Coming on to play three songs: “Countdown to Extinction,” “Tornado of Souls,” and “Symphony of Destruction,” Friedman practically stole the show during that time. And while it was a great moment for metal, a lot of work that went into that. Cue the latest behind the scenes video from current Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro’s YouTube page.
Included in the video are clips of Loureiro’s travel from Finland to Japan, some of the locations he visited, as well as some prime soundcheck footage.
As of right now, there’s no information as to whether Megadeth will connect with Friedman again in the future. That being said, he’s gone on record saying he’d be interested to do it again down the road. Until then, you can check out the video to see what went into such a cool moment.
